Rethinking Research Management

Competition is fierce in today’s investment management arena, leading firms to tighten their belts to compensate for slowing AUM growth and lower fees. Asset managers and asset owners continue to focus on efficient processes and modern technology to support the enterprise. Investment research within the front office, though unique to each firm, is an area that stands to benefit from process automation and the adoption of modern tools.

According to the March 2020 CutterResearch Research Management survey, less than half of firms reported using a research management system (RMS) ─ and those that do wonder if they are getting enough from it. Now is the time to take a fresh look at options and closely examine the functionality that these systems offer to help firms effectively manage the research content that drives their investment decision-making.
